San Diego Crew Classic
Stanford Women and Lightweight Women competed in the San Diego Crew Classic on March 26th and 27th. The Women’s 1V8 dominated with a Grand Final time of 06:42.827. Stanford Lightweight Rowing completed its first regatta of the ‘22 Spring Season with a fifth-place finish in the Jackie Ann Stitt Hungness Trophy competition.

Stanford Women kicked off the Spring ‘22 season in San Diego, bringing home the Cal Cup after first-place finishes in both the preliminary heats and the grand final.
The Cardinal had the best time of both qualifying heats on Saturday. Stanford Women won the heat by about a boat length over 13 other collegiate programs including 2021 NCAA Championships competitor Gonzaga. Stanford continued its success on the water in the Grand Final Sunday, finishing with a time of 6:42.827, 13 seconds better than its mark in preliminary heats.

Lightweight Women
Stanford Lightweight Rowing kicked off in San Diego with a third-place finish of 6:47.962 in the preliminary heats.
The Cardinal returned to the water on Sunday and were up against a strong field of competition. Stanford Lightweight Women overcame tough conditions and an unfavorable lane assignment to nab a 5th place finish in the Jackie Ann Stitt Hungness Trophy competition with a time of 7:02.893.
