BIG ROW (W)

The #2 Stanford Women finally got to have a home race this week, competing with #6 Cal in the annual Big Row. Since both teams have a deep level of athletes, there were five total events - four eights and one four.

The 1V8 won by open water while the 2V8 was a little closer, with Cal ahead for a small portion of the race, but Stanford showing a gritty comeback and winning by more than three seconds. The Stanford 3V8 never trailed and won by a similar margin to the 2V8. The 1V4 won by a wider margin - nearly 9 seconds. Cal only won the 4V8 event, leading the entire race, but Stanford made a valiant push at the end and only lost by a couple of seats. Since the NCAA championships feature only two eights and a four, the depth of the Stanford Women's roster looks as promising as ever.
