PAC-12 INVITE
The #13 Stanford Men co-hosted the PAC-12 Invitational with #1 Cal, not racing each other directly, but rotating races between themselves and #4 Syracuse, #6 Northeastern, #12 Wisconsin, and #11 Boston University. [Stanford did not race Syracuse during the weekend]
On Saturday the Stanford Men were undefeated in both the 1V8 and 2V8, beating their higher-ranked counterparts BU and Wisconsin. Junior Jack Clark was able to claim a "win" over his father in the 2V8 race - Chris Clark is the current coach of Wisconsin!
On Sunday Stanford faced the #6 ranked Northeastern. The 1V8 had a very good race, knocking off the higher ranked Huskies. The 2V8 also raced very well, but fell just a little short by 2.5 seconds, even though they were closing the gap in the final 500 meters. For the weekend, Stanford was 5-1 in all races across both boats. The college polls, which are based on the 1V8, are surely to change this coming week.
